Huge Title
Hi everyone, my name is Julie Lee. I am a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I am a mother of four wildly energetic kids. I love coaching group fitness classes. I have been a fitness instructor for about three years during which time I have enthusiastically taught group fitness classes. I would put group fitness classes up against any other way to workout. There is just something uniquely special about being in a group fitness class.
While it may sound absolutely terrifying....

-
I haven't been to a gym in 20 years! I am so out of shape. (You aren't alone; but you took the very important first step and came to class. Building strength will follow)
-
I don't like working out in front of people. (We have been taught to believe this, yet group classes provide incredible motivation and inspiration for EVERYONE)
-
I can't do the exercises (I have a modification for EVERY exercise, BUT let me assure you that the more you do it, CORRECTLY, the closer you will get to being able to do it)
-
Getting off the ground takes me a while (that's ok, you crawled before you walked, cut yourself some slack)
-
What if I need more rest time?? (well, you take it)
-
What if I can't hold the weight (you don't; weight is a progression anyway)
-
What if I am not good at this and I feel inadequate (it takes time to grow, no one is good at the start BUT you owe it to yourself to FEEL GOOD)
-
What if I have a bad knee, or a bad back? (Building strength will only help this injuries)
-
What if I have never lifted weights before, EVER? (It is NEVER too late to start. People should be strength training at least 2 days a week)

Make progress your friend.

I don't know how it happens, or why it happens, but the group aspect makes people THRIVE and reach levels they arguably would not have achieved one on one, or on their own. The energy is intensely contagious, the music is great, and the community of people coming together to share in an hour of sweat and grind is bar none.
If you have any questions, reservations, concerns, email or call me. I am happy to discuss the magic of this. Don't let fear hold you back. We all experience fear, it is NORMAL. But we can't let it dictate how we move through life.

See you in class.
